September 1st Challenge

Hello and welcome and to Sketches with Color. This has been a year of  many ups & downs for the blog. Brenshevia handed over the reigns to me as administrator. We lost a few Design Team members, we acquired some amazingly talented new Designers, we lost some more. And then there were changes to the challenges. Unfortunately, between all of these changes as well as commitments & medical issues I have in my own personal life, continuing to keep the blog up & running is just no longer an option for me. A few of us had already created some gorgeous projects before this decision was made. And we also have an incredibly talented Guest Designer who has faithfully submitted pages for almost all the challenges, so I decided that we would go out with one final sketch and color challenge. I want to give a huge thank you to the Designers who have contributed amazing work to the blog, and I want to thank all of you who have followed us and played along. It seems like this scrappy world of ours is a small one...so I am sure we will all "meet" again somewhere!

Without further ado...this month's sketch and color palette:

Paula Simionato

First of all I am very happy for the invitation to be a guest designer, thank you very much for this opportunity.
I am a pharmacist working full time, mother of a almost 6years old boy, wife, scrapper and housekeeper, although the last one I let behind many times...lol.
I´ve been scrapping since 2007, when my boy was born, since then I´ve been trying many style, but didn´t adopted none as prefered. I am a designer of digiscrap BUT I am really DIY person...lol.
Now a days I am much more into mixmedia Freestyle. I would love to receive new visitants of my blog:www.apapelouca.blogspot.com.

Welcome to Sketches With Color! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in July. Are you ready for a new sketch? Don't forget about the changes we made effective July 1st...there is now a single challenge posted each month. And the color palette is no longer a requirement for submissions. However, using it in conjunction with the sketch will gain an additional entry for the prize.

Here is the sketch for the month of August (required)...

Stacia Brandt

Hi!! My name is Stacia Brandt and I am excited to be Guest Designing this month for Sketches With Color. I’m the mother of 2 children, Alyson, age 10 and Rilen, age 8 months. Currently, I’m a SAHM. I love being home with my children and watching them growing. We also have a Pitbull named Roxy.
I’ve been scrapbooking since 2002 while I was pregnant with my daughter. I had previously been an avid cross-stitcher. While pregnant, I had a lot of pain in my wrists and fingers and couldn’t hold a needle….But, I found that I could scrapbook. This was back when there was nothing available but paper and stickers; and I immediately fell in love with the hobby. Here I am, 11 years later, still scrapping away.
I’ve been a member of 5 design teams and have recently started my own blog challenge. I’ve been published in Scrapbook News and Review and will have a layout featured in the November/December issue of Creating Keepsakes. I also have ventured into the world of Etsy by opening my own shop and having my own scrapbook service website.
I hope that you enjoy the layouts I have created for this month’s challenges. I enjoyed working with the sketches and hope that you will be inspired by my pages!

You have the entire month of August to submit your layout or other project. Don't forget that to be eligible for the randomly chosen prize, you must use the sketch and have a U.S. mailing address. For a second entry in the drawing you can use the color palette with the sketch on the same layout or project.

July 1st Challenge and Changes

Hello and welcome to Sketches With Color! We have a few changes here on the blog starting this month.

First of all we would all like to say good-bye to our Design Team member Annie who, due to personal commitments, needed to step down from the team. We will miss her beautiful work and wish her the best in all her personal and scrappy endeavors!

There are also two changes with our challenges. We will no longer have challenges twice a month, but instead a single challenge which will be posted every first of the month. We hope this will give all of our followers more time to complete and upload submissions. The other change to our challenges is that while we will still have both a sketch and color palette to inspire you...you will no longer be required to use the color palette. Submissions MUST still follow the sketch for an entry into our randomly drawn monthly prize. Using the color palette is now optional. However, using it in conjunction with the sketch will gain an additional entry for the prize.

Here is this month's sketch (Don't forget that the sketch is mandatory for submissions)...

Bev Code

I am just new to online scrapping since Apr 2009. There are so many sites. My name is Bev Code and I have been scrapping about 4+ years. I am a wife, mother and gramma that loves being retired and now have time to scrap to my heart's content. My projects range from layouts, cards, altered projects, mini albums and i love to share new tips and techniques as I learn them. I live in Conestogo, Ontario and spend some time in Florida where I take my scrapping with me for the extended time. I am thrilled to be joining this fabulous site as GDT for June.

Here is what Bev created with our sketch and color palette:
